Recently, I’ve come across quite a few young, remarkable artists who decided to enter the marketplace. One such artistic wizard, who I was fortunate enough to interact with, is Ruteeka Kakodkar, founder of Oldschoolart. Based out of Mumbai, the online brand is all about visually captivating paintings, customized merchandise and fine art prints.

It all started when Ruteeka painted Van Gogh’s Starry Night (on a cup!) for a friend, following which she painted her own guitar. Organic social media attention and commissions led her into monetizing her love for aesthetics. And boy, aren’t we glad she did. If you’re as musically inclined as I am, you’ll be thrilled to know that Ruteeka recently worked on a painted series of Spotify  song covers which is stupefying. I was sold instantly, trust me. Songs by Kodaline, Hozier, Coldplay, Pink Floyd and many others are beautifully painted.
